Origins
Established in 1917, Toto’s early years were a mirror of Japan’s economic development. In the first half, Toto produced products to meet the growing demand for modern, brand new urban housing. This strategy helped to increase sales and expand the market share of the company globally.
In the 90s, Toto began to focus on research and development for water-related appliances. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management and sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
